“1957 Little Rock Nine.”
Process Paper

This topic is a topic that I have heard a lot about, but I’ve never actually learned anything about it.  Years went by, and history fairs pasted.  Each one I can remember; I asked to do a project on Little Rock Nine.  Each year I heard, “This topic is not in your age group.” Or, “This topic doesn’t go with the History Fair theme.”  When History Fair came around this year, I was sad and thought of it as just another disappointment.  As my history teacher pasted the topic papers out, I was surprised to see that my topic was on it.  I stayed calm in my seat, but I my stomach I could feel butterfly of joy come over me.  I know right away that this was the topic I was going to end up doing and enjoying.

Conducting my research was not to difficult, because I had already done some research on my own, so all I had to do was take that research and decide on a project template to do it on.  I based most of my project on primary sources, such as the little Rock Nine Foundation.

It took me a while to choose how I was going to get my point across.  All I knew was that I didn’t want to do an exhibit, because I all ways do those for History Fair, Science Fair, and other things.  I knew I want to do something that could put my computer skills to the test.  I didn’t do a documentary because I knew I wasn’t good with a camera, nor was I any better in front of them.  Same reason I didn’t do a performance and all the others just seemed boring.  It didn’t take me long after to realize that a website was the best choice for me.

I created my project on weebly.com.  It wasn’t had for me to create it because of all the tutorials they offered, and it was a spot where you just imagine it and make it happen.

My project is related to the debate part of the theme, because there was a big controversy over letting these nine teens into the school.  It was debated and argued over for years.  The Brown vs. Board of Ed. Was a similar topic.
